National News: Ford Recalls
Ford is recalling certain types of cars because of the problems that have been caused. They are recalling Ford Escapes and Mercury Mariners, models 2008-2011, and Ford Explorers, model 2011-2013, because the power steering will break. The solution is it might need a new part or the car need a software update. They are aware of 20 accidents and 8 injuries due to the steering problems. The automaker is also recalling Taurus Sedans, model 2010-2014, because of the license plate lamp having the possibility of corrosion because of road salt. The road salt could cause the license plat lamp to short circuit, over heat, and start a fire. It's believed that 18 fires have started that was and in one of the cases an jury due to a man putting it out with his hand. The last cars being recalled are: Ford Fusions, Mercury Milans, Lincoln Zephyrs and MKZs from the years of 2006- 2011. These cars being recalled are due to the fact of floor mats being installed wrong causing two known accidents. More cars have been recalled, causing scrutiny on manufacturers since General Motors has disclosed an issue that had not been talked about for 10 years.
